In addition to the inclusion of Bloomberg Television, a further two channels, Clubland TV and Wedding TV+1 have joined the Freesat line up.

Clubland TV is available on channel 514 and offers the latest dance music. Wedding TV+1 can be viewed on channel 403 bringing you a whole station dedicated to weddings, on a +1 time-delay.

Channels will (or should anyway) be added to your Freesat digital box or IDTV automatically during the course of today.

Nothing too exciting but I like having clubland TV on in the background so saves having to switch to non freesat mode now!

Agreed, not the most exciting, but the best way of looking at it is that at least it’s additional revenue for Freesat to use.

About time Clubland TV was added…. It’s one of the only few channels I used to watch on Sky….

Three new channels, another £90k a year for Freesat, excellent . .

Should go somewhere near paying Bal Samara’s wages . .

I think it unlikely I shall be watching Wedding TV or the +1 though, ever . . ;-) . .

I am guessing that Clubland TV is modern dance music then, is it ?

Would really like a TV music channel similar to VH1 Classic that played some decent old stuff, can’t stand all this modern rubbish.

Music died in about 1986 for me i am afraid.

Horse and Country sometimes has shows about rural life and steam trains. Would like to see it in Freesat mode. Also ‘Press TV’ is another possibity.

Unfortunately it is not up to freesat to launch the channels, so whilst I would like to see a country music channel (real country music, not that pap that Daniel O’Donnell passes off as country), it is unlikely to happen unless some brave soul out there launches the channel. Likewise for a VH1 Classic type channel….

Clubland TV isn’t modern dance music per say. It’s commercial mass manufactured pap for bairns.

So this is the reason that when I switched on my pvr this evening I found a window asking me if I wanted to rearrange my channels ?

@ Bob if you watch it for a bit longer you will find its more of a mix of dance music then just “pap for bairns”.

“mix of dance music” = “pap for bairns” :)

Sorry what i meant to say was a mix of *dance music* (classic old style dance music) and “pap music” (commercial mass manufactured dance music) :)

Great news that all this extra channels are coming online. The most important issue for me is you have to advertise freesat on all the media’s you can. Quite a few of my friends don’t have any idea that freesat extists. The one’s that I have told are very interested especially the sky viewers who are paying throught the nose for the same sort of channels that you run on freesat. I feel a good advertising campaign will bring in many new customers.

We heard recently that freesat had managed 200,000 units sold in its first 8 months. I was reading some history of ONdigital and it appears they only managed 110,000 subscribers in their first 6 months. They then went on to have over 1million subscribers after 3 years.

The 200,000 figure sounded bad to me until I made that comparison. Freesat is selling faster than the much advertised first DTT service. That has to be very encouraging considering they managed that with out even a fraction of the advertising ONdigital had.

I wonder when/if freesat will get into the million units sold? If they start advertising now and improve the service then user numbers could explode.

Its all very encouraging…..lets just hope ITV HD dont bid 3billion quid for the conference football rights!

maybe id be smiling if it wasnt for the fact clubland is on the “other sat” channels, although it does save a few seconds switching to it, when we gonna see a babechat channel in HD, lol

I would think that most music TV channels are quite worried, because as soon as a HD tv music channel is launched all the SD ones will be consigned to the graveyard, Most new music videos I have read are made in HD.

A few definitions of the word ‘Club’

    To beat with a club.

To throw, or allow to fall, into confusion.

A heavy staff of wood, usually tapering, and wielded the hand; a weapon; a cudgel.

    Sounds good . . better tune in then . . ;-)
