You cant be serious buying freesat. Why pay £200 to get 80 channels when you can spend the same amount and get 2 to 3000 channels for the same money. I have been watching free to air satellite tv for the past three years with a motorised dish. I get from China to Europe and all the channels you will get with a freesat box plus another 300 channels off the Astra2 satellite. You can get the equipment from Maplins & they will answer all your questions or search the net for "FREE TO AIR SATELLITE SYSTEMS". Best buy 90cm dish. I dont work for Maplins im retired

Amazed by the lack of hardware at launch. if you're interested, we released a quick podcast discussing the launch, and reviewing the Humax Foxsat - listen online at http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/freesat.html

I went into Comet and Currys today looking for the newley installed -all singing, all dancing, flashing lights- desplays for freesat. When I couldn't see it I thort it must be berried behind stacks of boxes containing all the different Freesat receivers.

No and no.

No in store displays :-(
No Freesat receivers :-(

I asked in Currys and was told it is comming out next year. When I said it is laurnch day today they looked it up on there computer system (it looked like it was a instore system with info for the staff to pass onto custimers. Not like the Currys on line site) It had some schpeal about Freesat that seemed very lite on the info and a bit dated. After reading it the member of staff said I could try a larger store but it was not in this branch. (Weymouth's Currys isn't a shoebox size branch)

Over to Comet.

The sales assistent who hadn't heard of Freesat last week until I told him a little about it came over to me quite excited. He had found out all about it and was waiting for it to come into Weymouth's branch (reading between the lines, I think after finding out all about it he wanted one for himself too). He said the Grundigs had a problem and all needed a softwere upgrade so would not be around for a bit but he was hoping to have the Humax in after the weekend.

--------
Now to my point.

We have known about this for months now.
06.05.08 has been the date roumered to the public for a long time.
So why (no the hole) is there no product in any shops?
Why (no the hole) are serches on shop's web sites still comming back with 0 results for Freesat.

+

(on the hole again) Staff in the shops still clueless.

---------------------

This is all terning into a joke. The sad thing is it is on us, the consumer.

Freesat with all thair secrecy.
BBC and ITV on the underwelming announcement and reporting of Freesat.
All the retailers for been clueless and not having any stock.
