my ferguson freesat hd box now states on the red button “get bbc iplayer” but on pressing the red button the only mention is as previously a foot note on the menu, “bbc iplayer is coming soon to freesat hd – 7001″….there doesnt even seem to be any mention on the internet or anywhere about any firmware updates to the Ferguson F101HDSAT,which seems to have a few glitches in it.

From my understanding this box is the same as the Metronic SATHD100, Comet seem to have re branded it Ferguson (someone correct me if I am wrong!). After searching the web apparently there is a s/w update versions 125 for this box which enables it to get bbc iplayer…..

i downloaded the metronic update and flashed my box in june since then ive had bbc iplayer ,but the box now thinks its a metronic !

Indeed the Metronic update does work,but on switching on your tuner instead of the Ferguson screen flashing up,you will be greeted with the Metronic one instead,whether other glitches have been sorted,I have yet to see,but certainly the iplayer is there….to update follow the link below….

Hi Lez… I know I sound thick, but how do I install the Metronic update onto my F101HDSAT? Is it as simple as putting it on a memory stick and putting that into the USB socket in the back? Any guidance would be appreciated

Don’t used that upgrade on your Ferguson F101HDSat box. I tried it on mine and it has now caused problems. Menu has started freezing and shutting down the box. It has also caused the screen to display a message whenever turned on. It did not help iplayer to work. It’s not the proper full upgrade.
I upgraded exactly as stated in the instructions. Once installed it also appears impossible to get rid off. Even a restore doesn’t remove it.
