Accessing Non-Freesat Channels On Humax FOXSAT-HD / HDR

Freesat’s current list of available channels in the EPG (electronic programme guide) is only a fraction of what is available via the Astra2/Eurobird satellite your dish is pointed to. To view all the other available channels, you need to access the manual tune / non-freesat mode on your Humax FOXSAT-HD / HDR digital box.

To do this, simple access the relevant menu as follows:

MENU
SETUP
MANUAL TUNE
SEARCH

Once you have carried out the search (which can take some time!) you will be taken into non-freesat mode, where you can view the channels.

To switch between Freesat and non-freesat mode you need to select the following menu options:

MENU
SETTINGS
STB MODE (press the right arrow to switch between the two modes then press ok)

Hi All, unless I am mistaken, when I tuned into the non-Freesat channels(about 350 of them). when I went back to “Freesat” I had lost all the reserved (for recording) programmes.I did not want to risk forgetting to re- reserve these programmes if I went non- “Freesat” again so I cannot confirm this. Can anybody confirm or correct me on this, cheers, Rod Janes

I am living in Belgium and have Freesat now without the interactivity, no red button etc.. I would like to buy a Freesat box but need one with CAM for the local card which runs on Mediaguard 3 code.
    1. Are there Freesat boxes on the market with a CI slot ?
    2. I have a double LNB one pointed to 28E the other 19E (Canal Digital) can these boxes handle the dual signal through a Diseq ?
    3. What is the story on the postal codes, I read the best is to enter a London ZIP code, are there any channels I will not be able to receive ?
    Thx

    Rod / Brian,

I lost all my scheduled recordings when I switched to ‘non-freesat’ using my Humax HDR.

It appears to only happen if you are using one LNB connection (still had one in my old sky box) tried now I have completely ditched Sky and all seems to work fine.

I still think it is annoying why you have to keep switching modes. Why can’t it just be another tab from the ‘Guide’ menu.
