Another dull, uninspiring channel added to the EPG. When are we going to see some more interesting channels, featuring programmes such as, “The paint drying show”, or “Grass Growing Live”.

If any of the moaners actually had a girlfriend, they may well be interested in the channel. But oh, I forgot – if you don’t like it it doesn’t deserve to be on the EPG.

It’s been said many times before, it’s not just a simple case of adding a channel to the EPG. A channel has to want to be listed and is willing to stump up the cash to be listed.
I too would like the Travel Channel to launch on Freesat, but only they can do it.

How do you know have you actually watched it or are you just having a moan as a matter of policy. People in the UK must be the biggest bunch of moaners amd naysayers in the world.

Nope, not seen it, but I don’t need to as I’ve read the description and I know the pretentious dribble it’s going to offer doesn’t interest me in the slightest.

A channel with a new/under serviced genre is always welcome – I’ll certainly check it out before passing judgment

Nice to see an exclusive channel on the platform once again, even if it’s not to everyone’s taste!

Great, well done Freesat on another addition, its always welcome. I’m sure plenty of wives/girlfriends will view Fashion One from time to time.

Blimey, some people are never satisfied. Often I will dip in to the more obscure channels and find that thy can be refreshing. I include here the Food channels, Vintage TV, HKD, CNN and France TV (has the most attractive presenters!!).
The more exclusive channels will surely encourage others?

I have absolutely no interest in Strictly Come Dancing but I appreciate that some people like it so it’s fine by me. Same goes for Fashion One.

Are you sure it’s exclusive admin, or is it just exclusive for the moment? A story earlier this week I think (perhaps last week) mentioned in passing a sky launch.

So Freesat get a cheapo fashion channel and bloody Sky get More4 HD and Film4 HD.
I thought Freesat were supposed to be getting these?

Calm down and think of all the money your saving. It’s not as if HD is any big deal if you have a good telly.
Richard CrichtonQuote

Personally I could easily live without television. Most of it’s not worth watching and the pictures are better on radio. As for paying Sky, no chance.

Fashion One is a good example of a channel that could of been exclusively HD. By not showing in SD the broadcaster would have had lower expenses and it would encourage the sale of HD boxes. SD should be a thing of the pass by now.

More 4 Hd and film4 Hd were never promised to Freesat as far as I know. Anyway 4 have to pay for their recent Paralympic coverage somehow.

If it is an exclusive why does Fashion One’s home page here http://www.fashionone.com/United-Kingdom have a notice saying “Can’t get Fashion One in the United Kingdom – call Sky or Virgin Media? Seems unlikely it is an exclusive to me = more misleading info from freesat

I expect they are trying to drum up business but they can’t go on Sky as a SD channel as they are not accepting any more SD channels on their EPG. Fashion One is not on Virgins list of channels.

Sounds like someone marketing-wise has got their knickers in a twist not knowing the platform they are on. Maybe someone should drop them a line with a gentle reminder! I think they are foreign owned so their less clued marketing team probably think ‘Sky’ are the only DSAT operator in the UK!

If you can not see the differents that HD makes then you don’t have a good telly.
ChrisKQuote
September 17th, 2012 at 1:54 pm
I see the difference with HD sure but a good telly will upscale SD so that the difference is minimal with good material. This is especially true with some BBC so called HD programmes . Obviously this does not apply to the sub prime channels that do not even broadcast full SD resolution in the first place. The present HD system isn’t really much better than Pal plus on a 36″ Sony Trinitron We need SuperHiVision not the comparatively low res HD we have at present.

Fashion One reminds me of the old Fashion TV channel on Sky which had some interesting shows! The making of the Pirelli calender springs to mind although they used to get away with pretty much topless women at all times of the day under the banner of fashion and art

I think its basically that channel reborn, the programme lengths 15/30 minutes and titles (like Tendencies) are pretty much as a remember from FTV.
More pressing though is why its currently being shown in a weird 2:35:1 “stretchy vision”.
