I guess this means that Join Freesat too is 6 years old, or maybe just a wee bit older? I think you need to give yourself a pat on the pack also. This website has done much to promote Freesat, to publish news and contribute towards lively debate on the format.
Long may both Freesat and join Freesat continue!

    Happy Birthday Freesat.

Decent service but much more work to be done on overall quality / HD content / raising the profile of the service / getting the service as recognised as a service in it’s own right and not just a Freeview back up.

Happy Birthday Join-Freesat (belatedly). I still remember being on here before Freesat’s launch which makes you 6 1/2 approx (?).

Can’t remember the exact date, will try to find out, but yes, it was well before the launch of Freesat. I remember on Freesat’s launch day I had a better position in the search engines than they did…didn’t last long!

Hate to spoil the party but it’s not…
“Over 3,800,000 Freesat sales from over 100 different models of receiver, now in 1.8 million homes, circa 6% of UK homes”
It’s 1.8 million sales and 3.8 million viewers according to Freesat’s own numbers.

Made an error, but we are both wrong, it is 1.8 million homes and 3.8 million viewers per week. The actual sales are somewhere over 3 million, though specific data available.

It’s great that we now have STV HD but there is no STV+1. Do you know when we will get this.

Not sure Sandra. I’d have hoped STV+1 would have appeared at the same time for Scottish viewers but, despite it actually being available on Satellite for over 3yrs, it’s still not been added to the EPG’s of either Freesat or Sky.
