Humax Freesat HD receiver launches on Argos website ITV HD confirmed as Freesat exclusive
May 02

Dixons have launched a Freesat page on their website with a few questions answers. You can also register for updates, although whether they will be any different than the ‘lack of’ updates from the official site, we do not know.

No products are displayed yet, but the most noticeable addition is mention of ITV1 already having a HD counterpart, suggesting a definate availability from launch.

The local Currys (part of DSG) and Comet were both devoid of any idea about what Freesat is/will be.
‘Have you any Freesat receivers in stock yet?’
    ‘You mean Freeview’.
    ‘No, Freesat.’
    ‘Ah, yes Sky!’
    ‘No, Freesat.’…

Anyone any idea what the “special launch offer” is?

Maybe £10 off the box or installation cost or something like that?

What equipment do I need to receive ITV HD service?
ITV HD is only available through freesat, so you’ll need a satellite dish and either a TV with freesat HD built in (available soon), or a freesat HD digital box connected to an HD Ready TV. You’ll need to connect your HD digital box to your HD Ready TV with an HDMI cable (these cost from about £5).

Yeah, I stumbled upon that too at lunch when I was trying to find out when Headcases was on, that pile of crap ITV try to pass off as satire. I’m sorry if any of you enjoy it but I am much more into what I believe to be higher quality satirical programming such as “Have I Got News For You!” and to a lesser extent “Bremner, Bird and Fortune”.

I bought a Foxsat Humax Freesat but very disapointed as the programs on BBCare on preview all day repeats you get the odd programs on but does not look any different to normal tv have been watching football on both BBC & ITV it is not worth having I paid £149 for it from Comet mutch of the programs are the same as Freeview . Friends have come to watch it they say that they can not see the difference, in shops looks mutch better??????????
