Looks like something from the 80s, and as dull as ditchwater. At least it has some front panel controls, so should remain operative when people loose the remote. Absence of ventilatioin slots suggests that the box should run cool, which can only be a good thing. Let’s hope that the other manufacturers come up with something a bit more visually exciting…

Nice looking boxes. In some ways more attractive than the Humax.

I cannot find them on Comet website. Have Comet removed them or am I missing something?

Looks like they’ve been removed! We’ll keep checking to ensure the links are correct once they re-add them. Thanks for letting us know.

Would I be right in saying I could unplug a Sky box (normal or Sky+) and plug in a FreeSat box and it would work straight away. Dish and cable would be fine for either Sky or FreeSat. Would you need duel LNB’s or higher quality cables for HD broadcasts ??
Cheers

Guy - Yes, straight swap over will allow you to use a freesat receiver. A dual or quad LNB would only be needed for PVR use, a single LNB/cable is fine for HD broadcasts.

I have just ordered one of these for pick up at local Comet store, and the chappy on the phone has said that I will need to reposition my sky dish to another orientation for this HD box to work??? Not sure this fella is just trying to make more on the install fee? They also tried to ‘cross sell’ an HDMI lead for £40 - the £5 lead from Argos rigged up to my upscale DVD player seems to deliver a fine picture.
