Press release from Freesat today:

FIRST HIGH-DEFINITION EPISODE OF ‘HARLEY STREET’ TO BE BROADCAST ON ITV HD EXCLUSIVELY VIA FREESAT

Harley Street, ITV’s brand new drama series set in the world famous medical hub of the same name, premieres tonight in high-definition on ITV HD, available exclusively through the free-to-air satellite TV service, Freesat.

Viewers can access ITV HD via the ‘red button’ when prompted on screen during the programme’s transmission between 2100 - 2200hrs.

Commenting on the first HD transmission of the programme, Emma Scott, MD of Freesat said; “It’s fantastic that ITV are exclusively premiering Harley Street in HD on Freesat. This is a major new drama that I’m sure will prove popular with viewers. Harley Street is one of a range of new high definition dramas, movies and sport from ITV that will be available for free on Freesat this year. This is brilliant news for Freesat customers.”

    Seeing is believing!

  2. Denis Says:

Michael - That remark is uneccessary

  3. Steve Says:

Excellent news. Was beginning to wonder when ITV might be showing more HD stuff. I’m guessing that being a series it will be a regular thing, too (rather than first episode ‘teaser’.)

  4. bluntman Says:

There’s so little HD that’s been on ITV, I’ll be surprised if they remember to turn the red button on. This will definitely make up for the Grand prix being in Standard Definition Ho Ho!

  5. Footy Says:

When there is more HD, then we will buy-until then, a waste of money

  6. Tony - Rep of Ireland Says:

It’s good to see more HD on ITV, hopefully it will be a good show! Has any one an idea if the fourth coming PVR will be able to record stuff off ITV hd if it’s only avilable via the red button? Has ITV any TV listings for their HD content!

  7. wezo Says:

I have the foxsat HD and it is working for me- Try and start start your STB and see if it works then-

  13. wezo Says:

looking on DS forum it looks like a regional issue rather than a reciever brand issue but still what a complete mess from itv/freesat this is becoming a complete joke seems like this format takes one step forward and two back.

  14. Tony - Rep of Ireland Says:

I have my Foxsat-hd box set to ITV london as we don’t have any itv regions in the republic. But as far as I know the red button prompt doesn’t work on the few regions dat don’t have ITV1 as there main channel like UTV and STV.

  15. harold Says:

watched the whole harley street programme no red button hd prompt, what a lash up for the first itv drama attempt, disgusted.
