Stock shortage says Freesat Currys misleading Freesat installation
May 13

Dixon’s have annouced they are now selling the Humax Freesat HD Digital Box (FOXSATHD) online. Not only that, but they are offering a 10% discount using code ‘FREESAT’ until Midnight 18th May 2008.

Its just a shame they have risen the price of the box by £10, but that could easily be due to shortage!

Visit Dixon’s to buy the Humax FOXSAT-HD Digital Box.

why did they chose Alba PLC of all company’s? no wonder there is a shortage. I would like to see the boxes made by Philips, Panasonic, Pace etc.

  2. Trevor Says:

I suspect that Panasonic etc would not want to get into such a cheap market. Limited market size is another factor.

  3. Stewart Says:

i got a email from dixons 10% off saying Registered Customer Launch Offer :S

how did they get my email address :S

  4. Gordon Says:

I want to know when John Lewis will be selling them…..!

I want to know when I’m going to get my “Be the first to know of the launch of freesat” email.

    Or

Have they sold/given everyone’s email address to the Dixons groop?

    End quote.

risen the price of the box by £10
    minus
    10% discount

Sounds to me like something “The office of fair trading” should be looking into.

(Like when Tesco put all the price of it’s fruit right up high then did a highly premoted 1/2 price sale)

in currys today they were £149.99
currys is part of dixons or should i say the other way around
so why £159.99 normal price?from dixons
this should def be looked at as it is ripping customers off
best to wait for it all to calm down then the prices will go down also

  8. adrian Says:

    went into comet today
they said we will have them in for the launch
i explained it had already launched..well kind of
oh….said the salesperson i missed the training
i went to a pet shop hoping for better advice!

  9. Tim Says:

Typical DSG rip-off. £149.99 is the correct price country-wide and they know it.

  10. Alex Says:

@ Trevor - Panasonic are putting Freesat into some of there HDTV’s, so I don’t think there that bothered about the market size. I just think there needs to be a premium box for the high end market. I wouldn’t pea on a Alba product, even if were on fire…!
