Humax have announced that the eagerly anticipated Humax Freesat PVR/DTR will be unveiled at the IBC show in Amsterdam, September 12th - 16th.

Whilst the Humax PVR won’t be the finished product, and may still be a few months off release, it gives a first real chance to take a look at the new receiver; we can’t wait.

You never know, there might be other Freesat goodies on show that haven’t been announced yet.

Well if the promise of being in the shops in good time for the xmas season is to be fullfilled, they are cutting things a bit fine.

It will be like trying to get hold of Nintendo Wii fit. Impossible.

    Heres Hoping, Chris :)

this will give freesat a MASSIVE boost, and will be the thing that really sets it apart, and in front of, sky

Currently the Humax HD Freesat box is £135,49 (according to the panel left). The new box will presumably have twin tuners and a hard drive. I think therefore the price will be closer to £300, could be more initially. Therefore I think Freesat might be taking off next Christmas rather than this.

Can’t wait to get mine and ditch Sky!

Lots of channel tie ins with Sky end this year too. Watch them jump to Freesat and freeview ASAP.
