Looking to buy the new 42in Panasonic Plasma with Freesat built-in on launch? Well we have a treat for you, but only for this weekend.
We have been offered an exclusive discount, giving you 10% off the price of the new plasma. The current retail price which is the same at all the major retailers is £1,299.99, but with 10% off, you’ll pay £1,169.99 and delivery within 14 days, maybe much sooner. We don’t beleive you’ll find a better price anywhere on such a new model, so if your keen on buying, this weekend would be a fantastic opportunity to save yourself £130.
Here’s what you need to do:
Step 1 - Visit Currys Online - PANASONIC TH42PZ81B 42″ HD Ready 1080p Digital Freesat Plasma
Step 2 - Add to basket
Step 3 - When prompted, enter discount code ESAVE10PAN and click update
Enjoy!!!
Edit - Ignore that, buy from Laskys for £1,149.99 once released. You can also put yourself on their notification list so you know as soon as they have stock!

Even cheaper at Dixons. Enter voucher code BIGTV and the PZ81B can be had for £1092.50.
Bear in mind that the PZ85B also retailed at £1299 when launched and within a month of release, some websites were offering that model for around £950 or less if you search really hard including delivery. You have been warned.
You may note that that the PZ81B is available with a free Panasonic 5 year warranty by redemption until 31 July 2008. Although many independents are advertising this promotion, I haven’t seen much of this evidence from the likes of DSG so be careful not to fork out for this when you don’t need to.

Hi,
Since when did Laskys join the Freesat “Protected” group. You didn’t pass on the offer for the Grundig and Humax at http://www.satellitesuperstore.com/free.htm because of the restrictions on Independants.
Regards
Paddy

Price breakthrough! Now only £1076.83 on the TH42PZ81B at Tribal UK. This price includes VAT and delivery. Who’s next to beat this? Not long before the all important £999 barrier is smashed!
Now all we need is for a big price drop on the TH46PZ81B as well.

@Stephen Varga: Can you confirm the 5 year warranty thing? Can you get it buying online?
BTW: Currys price gone up to £1349 and NO discount.

@Juan Pablo: Try this link for starters:
http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/720092/index.html#anker_720094
Some on-line retailers state the guarantee for in-store purchases, others, such as Hi-Spek offer the item as an add-on for zero pence when prdering on-line.
Probably best to look for the best price them phone to check with that supplier before ordering.
Two things:
1. Will there be a significant price cut on this model after 31 July? For example, Tribal is not expecting stock until this date and yet is advertising the lowest current price.
2. Is there a possibility that Panasonic might extend the date of this promotion? These sort of things have been known to happen before.

Thanks Stephen. I was searching on panasonic uk website but didn’t find it.
I was about to buy today from dixons online but as it says delivery within 28 days I guess I can wait and make a decision when stock is already in the shops.

I was going to wait and get one of these but went for the TH-42PX80B for £600 last week. Thought I’d get the PVR (when available!) with my saving. Hope I’ve made the right choice.

Cant wait for the 42pz81b but i am holding on till it goes to £999 or less. been reserching tvs long time now have learnt lots.
Be carefull as some on line are selling the pz81E a bit cheeper but the E stands for Europe and it might not be as good as the B (British) also this 5 year warranty if you pay for it is such a rip off it could add 3-5 hundred pounds on top.
Any way acorrding to trading standards these goods are suppossed to last for a resonable time thats 5-6 years. I want free 5 year cover. any way good name like panasonic it should last. my old telly is 11 years old toshiba and its still in perfect working order, so be careful out there.
June 21st, 2008 at 7:26 pm
@Kate C: 42pz81E doesn’t have freesat. I am not paying for a 5 years warranty, as you said this things should last more than 5 years. It is good extra to have a 5 years warranty for free.. but I am not going crazy about that.

By the way my other tv (the new TH42PZ81 panasonic), will be in a different room next door to the one with sky which is a 50″ panasonic. Thanks for any help.

Mine arrived today. I managed to get the TV out of the box (2 people are recommended, but I couldn’t wait for my girlfriend to arrive…).
There was a Satellite dish from the previous flat owner, I guess it was for Sky.
I connected the cableto the TV, switched on,discovered the freesat and freeview channels, and 6 minutes after that I was watching Rafael Nadal on High Definition!!
You can read this thread about others telling about their experiences so far:
