Ketchup TV launches on Freesat

Freesat today announced it has added Ketchup TV to its extensive on demand line up. Available from today, Ketchup TV offers free children’s entertainment and educational shows.

Firm favourites for children on Ketchup TV include Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, Little Baby Bum, Caillou, Fireman Sam and Thomas and Friends, as well as educational programmes Super Why? and Monster Maths. Plus, this summer on Ketchup TV, kids can look forward to new Sesame Street segments such as Cookie’s Crumby Pictures, Super Grover 2.0, Elmo the Musical and Abby’s Flying Fairy School.

Commenting on the launch, Alistair Thom, managing director at Freesat said:

We’re delighted to launch Ketchup TV on Freesat and offer even more great entertainment for kids to enjoy during the school holidays. Ketchup TV is a perfect fit for Freesat as we both offer customers a huge range of free content, without the need for expensive subscriptions or contracts.

Paul Coster, CEO of Ketchup TV’s parent company VOD365 said:

The Freesat launch massively compliments Ketchup TV’s desire to deliver children’s premium content, in a 100% safe, simple, on demand environment for free TV viewers. We’re excited to be included in the evolution of free TV in the UK and very happy to be working with the great team at Freesat.

  1. Agreed i would love to see Eurosport and Eurosport 2 make their way to Freesat but not going to happen anytime soon there is more chance of Eden and Good Food making their way soon to be honest I’m happy with the channels this year there is plenty of channels on Freesat now to keep me and my family happy.

So I agree what Paul said above don’t get me wrong we would all love to see Eurosport make its way but not going to happen anytime soon.

  2. To be honest i think anything is possible now after the year we had I think any channels is now possible to come on to free to air on Freesat, I remember a year ago people said that channel Dave and Quest would never come and they did.

My Hubby used to work for ITV and says alot of Pay TV channels are coming away from Pay TV and says more will soon follow cause people rather watch free to air channels than pay for them.

We already pay for TV License and most people that i have spoken to are coming away from Sky and Virgin and going free to air and using Netflix and Amazon TV

My hubby worked for ITV for 30 years and says that ITV are planning to bring more HD channels on Freesat and Freeview in the future when contract is up with Sky.

Agree spot on Tiffany I do believe more and more channels with follow suit I know this cause i was a Sky employee for 20 years then was paid off in June I now use Freesat as I do not want to pay for subscription TV as Sky are ripping their customers off badly, I also tell you that Eurosport was very close to going free to air back in February when talks broke down between Sky and Discovery
but I can tell you that Eden is next in line the last i heard, Sky will always try and keep channels encrypted.

  4. Noticed yesterday that Freesat EPG dats is being transmitted for the FreeSports channel, ready for the add next Tuesday.

  5. I’ve noticed the app as recently been updated and seems to be running better for me anyway only think I wish is could see the guide in full instead of just swiping right for every program..

  6. Freesat have just (12:18) put a post on Twitter announcing the channel, so it’s been added to the EPG.

Owners of the Mk1 Humax (Foxsat) will need to wait until tomorrow to see the channel as it’ll be added to the channel list when the 3am housekeeping process runs.

  7. My Freesat I love FreeSports I’m happy thank you today. I don’t like it Virgin Media anymore maybe close?

  8. As Freesports arrives, Bike Channel departs. The owners had put the channel up for sale but there were no buyers and it has now been removed from the EPG.
