Freesat announced that it is adding a range of popular channels from Channel 5 to the platform from today, Tuesday 6th December: Channel 5 +1, 5USA, 5USA +1, 5* and 5* +1.
Freesat viewers will be able to watch some of the best comedy, sport, classic American action movies and popular dramas on 5USA including CSI New York, Numbers and Law and Order. …read more »
Channel 5 have announced that Channel 5 +1, 5 USA and 5* (plus their +1 timeshift channels) will all be joining the Freesat platform in December.

Freesat have signed an agreement with Channel 5 to sponsor the upcoming series Charley Boorman’s Extreme Frontiers.

According to an interview between The Guardian and Richard Desmond, head of Channel 5, they will be launching a time-shift channel next month on all platforms, including Freesat.
This is a good step forward for a broadcaster that has been very slow in moving forward over the past few years, and might result in 5* and 5US joining the platform at the same time. …read more »

In a series of replies received from Channel 5 by readers of joinfreesat (thanks guys/gals), it would appear that Channel 5 have made it very clear that they intend to launch Fiver (called 5* from 7th March) and Five US (called 5 USA from 7th March) on Freesat later this year.
They seem to be suggesting that the only problem standing in their way is the lack of narrow beam capacity on Astra2D (not a Freesat issue), but expect this to be resolved later this year when 1N becomes available. …read more »
