TSG, Freesat installer of the year 2009 are proud to present their newly launched Freesat Support website, offering helpful advice and information on Freesat related satellite dish installations; plus call-out options and maintainance contracts.
TSG (Total Support Group) were established in December 2003 to provide clients with award winning digital TV installations. Operating from 6 regional support offices situated across the country, the TSG network employees over 150 members of staff including 80 field installation teams and provides its clients with nationwide coverage. Offering a broad range of domestic signal solutions, TSG are recognised as one of the UK’s largest service providers specialising in satellite/terrestrial antenna installation and maintenance services.
As part of the new Freesat Support website, TSG are offering a few service options for those experiencing trouble with their already installed satellite dish, these include:
Maintenance
Freesat viewers encountering signal reception problems can quickly and easily arrange for one of TSG’s professional service installers to visit using the online booking facility. A fixed price call out charge is included, currently £59.95 which covers all materials needed to repair the system without any unexpected surprises. Please note that this service is designed for domestic dwellings using a stand alone satellite dish to receive Freesat services. For further information, call the TSG helpline on 0844 826 2055.
Annual Cover
For just £48, TSG offer a ‘peace of mind’ protection against any problems you may encounter with your satellite dish setup; so not to spoil the enjoyment of watching Freesat. This annual cover ensures cover against all electrical and mechanical failures including accidental damage and adverse weather conditions. The protection covers your satellite dish, LNB, mounting bracketry and all associated external downlead cabling to the Freesat receiver. Again, if you have a non-standard installation, you might want to call them first to check you would be covered.
Visit the Freesat Support website, there is plenty of useful simple diagnostics and technical information available free of charge; but should you take up any of their chargeable service options, don’t forget to give us a friendly mention.

Excellent. TSG should be commended for their commitment to, what is in fact, a small sector of the Digital Arena.
The more the merrier and anything to further the advance of Freesat in the marketplace. However, having what is efectively a “heavyweight” prepared to be involved and offer service such as this, is a significant step forward.
Well done TSG

Or you could say that this site is becoming yet another medium for commercial advertising. I appreciate this site needs revenue to keep it going, but lately there seems to be a bias towards commerial advertising rather than useful content. I am not critising the people responsible for this site because they are not able to report news where none exsists, but I think Freesat have probably reached their highpoint and are not too bothered about developing the availability of additional HD or SD content on the platform. I would imagine in the current economic climate there can’t be to many channels who are going to pay the fee to get onto the Freesat EPG, so, maybe it time for Freesat to think their stagegy or are they just giving lip service to the need to provide free content to viewers in areas that are unable to recieve digital TV

There’s no escaping the fact that commercial advertising is part of the site, but then that is required not only to gain important revenue for time, bandwidth etc, but also to help encourage and help with the sale of products and promotion of the Freesat platform. This site wouldn’t run without it, nor would visitors visit if there wasn’t this aspect of helpful information.
Appreciate that the focus has been taken some what off ‘real news’ but then there hasn’t been much, so we must do our best to continue posting.
FYI – We were approached by TSG some months ago with news of their plans and website; there is absolutely zero revenue from them to support this site; we were simply impressed by the approach they have, as well as the recognition given to them by Freesat, as well as customers we know that have used them; nothing more to it than that. (we have asked for a Christmas card though!)

Looking at their web site I could not find an address for this company. I understood that it was a legal requirement. I would not pay money to this company until you find out who they realy are!!

sounds good, but too expensive for the annual cover.
after all, you can get a brand new dish and cabling installed for only £78, so it would be cheaper to get a new install every 2 years!

TSG Freesat installation do not provide you with a new dish when your dish gets stolen which has happened to me today, I have phoned everyone I can think of and my dish has been stolen and I now have to pay £78 for a new dish when I have already paid £180 for the installation and box in the first place. I cant afford to pay out any more money I should have just got Sky instead of freesat at least they would have given me a new dish!!!!

Not sure why TSG are responsible for replacing a stolen dish; unless I’m mistaken, they offer a warranty against dish failure, but not someone stealing it. Sky would be the same and charge you for a new one. You’d be best claiming on your home insurance if you cannot afford a replacement.
