That’s an unexpected, but pleasing, development.

Superb. Complete EPG info on RB1 (and presumably on RB HD when it gets going during Queens next week), so we can see what’s coming up and when, and “programmes” are recordable as a scheduled event.

Does anyone know, are these permanent channels or just temporary for summer sport?

I believe these are permanent. However Red Button 2 & 3, which are launching soon on 982 & 983 are temporary for Wimbledon & Glastonbury.

Looks like the sport next week showing on non-HD BBC channels is being broadcast on BBC RB HD too so we’ll presumably have an option to watch via either this new mapped channel or via a ‘press red’ option.

Hi i am just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with signal and being able to watch all channels and if anyone can give me any advice on how to get all my channels back and be able to watch them properly without it saying no signal and breaking up the channel. Thanks

Apparently so, by up to 10% if you have a look at the disclaimer now being put at the bottom of the section of their site for new subscribers. 10% is a lot depending on how much people are already paying, guess they need to top up their shareholders pockets together with filling a hole in the costs of acquiring the EPL rights. This will no doubt come at the cost of churn creeping up, all good news for freesat in justifying higher savings at a time when money is still very tight.

If this figure is true, and there’s no reason to suspect not as it’s in black and white, this screams desperation to increase profits at a time when pay TV has somewhat reached saturation point. The only caveat may be they plan to give HD away for free but seriously doubt it!

I wonder if it will be in HD, like it used to be, once the Red Button HD channel launches? I notice today, right now anyway, there’s a new Red Button prompt which takes you to a blue menu prompt, the only option in it being “return to BBC One”, and switches you to 101. I guess this is going to be how the switching works for HD simulcasts?
