That didn’t last long. Would’ve helped if they had English subtitles!

It did. Teletext 888 English ones. I watched many films on there thanks to them

There other channel, UMP Stars, ceased broadcasting at 28.2E recently so I wonder if it’s about to wind-up. Many channels which have disappeared from freesat decide not to renew contracts prior to them leaving the Sky platform too.

Also included in this update appears to be TP moves for Information TV and Showcase (to 12607V). Currently there’s no EPG data on the new Txp but should be sorted soon’ish I guess.

Likely going Encrypted il’d imagine, it’s still on Virgin Media Cable too. Likely have a high value of themselves, and will crash and burn.

They closed UMP Stars down, most Asian channels appear to be going subscription free with the exception of Zee and the News Corp owned Star channels.

Just seems odd Neil that not long after the channel launched on Virgin Media, they shut it down on Freesat. It’s like they think they can survive without Freesat now that they’re getting a small increase of revenue from Virgin to be on their system.(Assuming Virgin have paid them a small fee to be on their service)

I guess they are getting something from VM but it won’t be a lot. Maybe they are going subscription in the near future which is why they disappeared from the platform? There’s always the odd channel to close down or leave freesat but if you look at the stats annually, there’s more joining than leaving which is good.

Your not going to get it :p

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but with a multicultural society we live in these days Freesat does have to cater to ethnic minorities with free-to-air asian/chinese film and entertainment channels on it’s roster. I would like to see Phoenix CNE on Eurobird1′s Europewide S1 beam come to freesat-I know it’s chinese but it’s interesting and a is little bit different providing not just news but also Chinese language entertainment over CCTV9′s output which is merely news 24:7 and boring.

Phoenix is good. CCTV does have some hidden gems though, eg; some really good travel programs. They make these available on their website as well, just as well because their EPG is hopeless.
