Major launch? There is an SD and HD channel launching soon, but not today. There is also a new product review coming towards the end of the month.

Why do we always have to loose one of the chart show channels to gain one?
So now we have lost Scuzz.
and we have lost the space – not that it ever launched on the G2 boxes!

Freesat seems to lose more channels than it gains.

Great, we lose the only 16:9 rock/metal channel for another dance/chart channel like the other dozen we have.

Come on, I agree we loose the odd channel here and there but freesat has gained far more channels than it’s lost this year to date, especially in the music genre where we gained six Box TV music channels alone in April, all of which went from pay to FTA too!

Maybe CSC are to wind Scuzz up or they see more value in Chartshow Dance being on the platform? Email CSC Media and ask them or post something on Scuzz’s facebook or twitter page asking where it’s gone on freesat.

Personally I’m more of a Dance music fan so prefer Chart Show Dance, but that’s just a personal choice of preference and appreciate the rock fans amongst us won’t be too chuffed.

To heck with boring dance music channels. What I really want is the entire HBO content which Sky hijacked so that I could no longer see Mad Men – and all the other dramas that the media keep going on about under the assuption that we can all afford rip off subs. to Sky.

This isn’t the fault of freesat but the broadcaster of the channel; they have clearly decided to swap out this channel for the other, maybe because they do not wish to pay for inclusion of them all on the EPG. You need to contact them to vent your anger about this.

I notice Scuzz still has EPG data, looking on a Foxsat HD without being updated overnight. Maybe they plan a return at a later date which has happened with CSC services in the past? Being optimistic for those who don’t like the change!

I think Chart Show Channel media should get their Wallet out Scuzz, Kix Power and any other channel they own not listed in the EPG. need channel no.s on freesat.

I would have used The Space more, but my broadband line is nowhere near fast enough to support the bit rate required. On a good day I don’t quite hit 900 kb/s. Rate adaption technology wasn’t applied to the bitstream – which isn’t surprising as it was always going to be a temporary service – so I was buffering for more time than acutally playing.

However (and the point of this post) what I did see showed how good SD pictures can be when there is no compression applied.

We don’t need any more pop and dance channels, no! But music stretches to more than that.

Yes, but as Chart Show Media contribute more channels to the platform than any other supplier outside the bbc, you would have thought that freesat could do something to help them get all their channels on to the platform – may be a discount for companies that contribute the most to the platform? – I know they have to offer fair terms to their epg – but if I am a broadcaster with say 10 channels already on the epg that I am paying for – should I not get a reduction for the next 10? otherwise one company ends up funding most of the platform.
Which was the main complaint about sky’s platform contribution charges.

No, they are absolutely fixed for all broadcasters, regardless of who they are and how many channels they add; after all, wouldn’t BBC and ITV then be entitled to preferential rates given their position with freesat!

I was disappointed to find Scuzz had vanished from Freesat. After a bit of Googling though, I found out it’s just been removed from the Freesat EPG but is still being transmitted – you can tune it in manually if your satellite receiver allows it. I got it back in no time.

Has freesat gone as far as it can go with adopting any new channels besides shopping, music and religious ones? Where are Dave, Yesterday and Drama for instance? National Geographic would be a great addition and HBO would be a real bonus. etc. etc.
