  1. Being a new purchaser of a humax hdr1000s. What does this mean. Update scan.

I have recently had issues with showcase menu disappearing off screen. A couple of hours later it ‘re appears. Does this mean I have to update my box in some way. Can someone advise please.

Got the same problem the box updates its self you can do a check for the leatest updates in the settings menus the showcase is updated by freesat as and when it is requiered hope that helps

  3. I must admit I’m relatively unaware of what the 2 showcase channels broadcast. Can anyone tell me what sort of programmes this channel shows? Thanks

  4. Showcase 1 & 2 are run by Information TV. They provide on air time for niche micro channels to see if their they can make a go of it as a full time channel, and help channels to launch a full service. (They helped Russia Today get on air a few years ago).

If you llok at the schedules you will see programmes aimed a a highly diverse set of viewers, everything from Asian folk to caravanners!

  5. Thanks. Yeah I must say I’ve watched information TV a few times as they usually have live greyhound racing on thursday evenings which can be a good watch. I’ll keep an eye out for their programming, cheers.

  6. On another note I recently replaced my Sky HD stb with the new HDR 1000s and I have remote eyes in 5 other rooms but I am struggling to get the 4 extra remote controls , so we currently run from room to room . Nobody , even Humax, can tell me when they are available ! Very poor.My supplier says they have been on order since last december !!!!!!
You want people to join this platform ,and I have had a Foxsat for some years, but you need to be able to supply the equipment in order to compete.
    Not a happy chappy,it’s a shame because it’s a good product .

    Use universal learning remotes.

Any updates on a launch date for Travel Channel?

On DS, the launch date was said to be the 26th.

Freesat EPG data is now being broadcast for Travel Channel. No data for Travel+1 though…

Are you sure, I can’t see data PID 3840 allocated to Travel Channel yet, looking on Linowsat which is usually up to date. Showcase 2’s 3840 Data PID appeared about a week before it arrived – will keep an eye on it tomorrow to see if the listings update overnight.

    Suggest you change your supplier.
Satbuyer had them into stock on Jan 30th but have since sold out and are currently awaiting stock so they may be able to help you out.

Further to this, looking at Linowsat Horse & Country appears to have data PID 3840 active on 12560V (same TP as Travel Channel). Maybe this is in the pipeline to join?? Sometimes these FS PID’s remain active on services after some services have ceased being on the platform but H&C has never been.

There’s definitely data there. When I last looked, there was full data for Thursday and some for Friday morning, but nothing until 2nd April (which has got a few entries for teleshopping and Globe Trekker). Picture attached.

Also, according to one report, data for Travel and VIVA was added on the 19th March, with Travel on 405 (presumed by most anyway), and VIVA on 507 (doesn’t currently have any EPG entries).

Interesting and thanks for the photo. I wonder what is carried in the 3840 data PID? I always thought it was EPG for the individual channel but maybe it’s other EPG data? Keep an eye on whether any EPG data also appears for the +1.

Interesting too that Viva is possibly joining and brings the freesat/freeview disparity margin narrower which is good. I presume their encryption contract is ending shortly as it’s currently FTV and thus will be FTA early April? Will keep an eye on that.

  14. I’d love to know which skip the films they show are fished out of so I could seal it up. No excuse for such shoddy picture quality.
