That was my very thoughts exactly. My only conclusion would be that CSC possibly have plans to launch a new kids channel with what is the TinyPop+1 slots. I can’t see viewing figures-wise how the timeshift of a kids channel attracts more viewers than a linear music channel? Flava and Bliss have both gone to make way for these two channels, hopefully they’ll see sense and re-instate them at some point in the future as Flava and Bliss would have had a few viewers.

I’m not sure when but ITV HD on 119 has disappeared from the Channel Islands region & we can’t even “red button” it like we could in the old days. Well sod them, I’ve put in a south-east post code, reset my BBC1 alternative to BBC1 CI and if I want to watch Channel TV, our local ITV station, then I’ll go through Freeview.

I wasn’t aware ITV HD was available on 119 in the Channel Islands region, thought it was via the Red Button only? Might be worth mentioning to ITV Viewer Enquiries as could be a fault: viewerenquiries@itv.com

    Hi Neil,

It was red button for quite a time but went to 119 about a year ago.
Thanks for the email address – It comes back with “unknown recipient”.
    I’ll try via their website.

Sorry Dipper, try viewerservices@itv.com they are generally quite helpful with these sort of things. ITV plc absorbed ITV Channel Islands in to the general network so guess they decided to add ITV HD at this point for CI viewers. Let us know how you get on.

I see freesat are closing there community forum at the end of the month.Seems silencing dissenting voices is there response to criticism of their lack of interest in pushing freesat forward. After all after free time was launched as next gen well after virgin and youview had already got there First it seems we should except that as a substitute for what we want which is more HD and more quality channels. As a footnote I see cbs have launched all there channels on youview as FTV Internet channels.Freesat gets less attractive by the day

ITV has confirmed its new free-to-air channel ITVBe will launch on 8th October 2014.

The new channel, which will be distributed on Freeview, YouView, Sky, Freesat and cable, will be dedicated to lifestyle and entertainment programming. Not in HD by the looks of it so another waste of space.

I wonder what LCN they’ll use to put ITVBe on? Unless they move ITV/STV/UTV HD (and possibly LCN swap it with 103 in areas where there’s a true simulcast) and allow this to go to the end of the EPG then one of their current services will have to move. I really hope they give this some thought as otherwise it will ruin the nice ascending channel orders we’ve got!

I noticed on a friends freeview HD TV that both channel4+1 and 4seven are now available in HD. Any news on when these will be coming to freesat or will we now be running behind freeview with number of HD channels available?

    Hi Neil,
Thanks for the good link. Just received this reply from ITV:-

ITV HD is not available in the Channel Islands but due to a technical error, which was beyond the control of ITV and Freesat, the service did appear on the Freesat platform in the region for a short period recently. The error has now been corrected and I’m sorry for any inconvenience this has caused if you previously had access to the service.

Due to operational factors, we are unable to broadcast a local HD variant of ITV in the Channel Islands. However, our local news, weather and sports programmes in the Islands are very popular with viewers and as ITV News Channel TV regularly attracts a large audience we want all viewers in the Islands to continue to have access to ITV Channel. As a result, I can confirm that ITV HD will remain unavailable on all broadcast platforms in the Channel Islands for the foreseeable future. I’m very sorry for any disappointment this may cause.

I will live with my work around. No skin off my nose.

    Cheers.

Interesting, I thought that was the case – guess the postcode mapping has been messed up when the ITV HD region re-jig (to add Central W and Meridian SE) to respective postcoded areas and has been overlooked for CI viewers. At least you’ve got the delights of living in such a nice part of the world, are you in Jersey, Guernsey or Alderney?

152 is reserved for Channel Travel +1, obviously Scripps have plans to add it to the EPG but as of yet have not done so, maybe waiting until now when it has been moved from Special Interest to Entertainment as will pull in more viewers.

Would be more relevant on the Humax HB-1000S page. Sounds like you’ve been mashing the key too much ;)
